The West Rail Line was the first RTD FasTracks corridor completed under the 2004 transit expansion plan to build 122 miles of new commuter rail and light rail, 18 miles of bus rapid transit, 21,000 new parking spaces at light rail and bus stations, and enhance bus service for easy, convenient bus/rail connections across the eight-county district.  Specifically, the West Rail Line includes 12.1 miles of light rail running between Denver Union Station (DUS) and the Jefferson County Government•Golden Station.  The Project, opened for revenue service in 2013, included 11 new stations, 6 Park-n-Rides and 3 new Call-n-Rides and traverses through downtown Denver, into an industrial area, parallels open space, and finally winds through an urban community where some homes are within 20 feet of the line.
